US Top 10 PC Games for January

PC Games Chart News

World of Warcraft topped the sales charts in January with the assistance of its new expansion announcement. EA dominates the chart overall, with Microsoft making a fair showing. The Sims 2 continues to demonstrate the legendary Sims longevity, outselling its Nightlife expansion pack.

It looks like EA are in for the long haul with the Sims 2, which is likely to clock up gargantuan sales figures over its lifetime. When combined with the endless expansions the profit and regular income must be very comforting for publisher EA. I'm sure the development team would love to see even the tiniest percentage of that money, but we have no clue what their bonus packages amount to, if anything at all.

Alas poor SOE: their EverQuest titles aren't anywhere to be seen. No surprise when they are giving the game away. It would appear that Blizzard's rival World of Warcraft game is sucking away all their players, and no amount of copying WoW features in a broken way will save them.
